Welcome to Kestrel Class

Here are some things you might like to know about our class and the things we get up to!

Kestrel Class is home to year 5 and 6 (ages 9-11), and at the moment there are 30 of us.

The Kestrel adults are: Mrs Morris (Year 6 – each morning), Mr Masters (Year 5 – each morning, whole class each afternoon) and Mrs L Dinnis  (Teaching Assistants).

We enjoy being within our spacious, vibrant room that is equipped to make the most of our time in years 5 and 6. It benefits from: a designated reading area containing a wealth of good books to borrow and enjoy, direct access out onto the playground, a raft of resources and displays to aid learning and is regularly filled with good humour, lively chatter and healthy debate.

As the older children in the school, we are encouraged be independent learners and individuals. To help with this, we are given the opportunity to take on responsibilities within the wider school community. Our class contains The Foodies. These are 10 pupils who work on a rota basis to facilitate the tuck shop every break time. We also have the House Points Monitors, PE  Shed Monitors, School Council representatives and every member of Kestrel has a designated reading buddy in Fox Class who they partner with to develop a love of reading and books.

To find out more about life in Kestrel Class come along to the next open morning (date pending) or speak to one of us.

Together we inspire, together we nurture, together we achieve.
