Hawks Class had a brilliant day at Duchy College.
The children went on a tractor and trailer ride around the grounds and saw the different types of crops and animals. It then took us up to the farm to see the pigs, piglets, calves and cows. We even went in the milking parlour and learnt how the cows were milked. We learnt they they are milked 2 times a day and each cow can produce about 30 litres each day. The milk is then transported to Davidstow to make cheese!
We then went to the animal care centre and met ferrets, chickens, rabbits, guinea pigs and even a skinny pig! We then went and saw dogs being groomed and different rodents. Unfortunately the snakes were grumpy so we were unable to see them.
Because of the beautiful weather, we had our lunch out on the grass and had a play on the fields where Prince Charles lands his helicopter when he comes to visit. We learnt that Prince Charles owns Duchy College!
It was a fantastic day and Hawks Class would like to thank Duchy College for providing this trip for us and for free.
