It was early in the morning when we woke up. We were filled with excitement and joy. We all had to go to Exeter St. David’s station to catch a train to London Waterloo. It was the start of a 3 day trip and we couldn’t have felt better.
It was around 11:50 when we arrived at Waterloo station. We all got off, still excited, and made our way to the underground. It was really fun and most of us had never been on it before. We got off at Canada Water. We then had to make our way to our next underground train, which took us to Rotherhithe where our youth hostel was. When we got to the hostel we went up to our dormitory and started to unpack. There was a room for the boys and a room for the girls. The view out of our window was mind-blowing! It blew us away!
We walked down to the underground (again) and caught a train to Canary Wharf. When we got there, it was really windy and cold. But it didn’t matter because we all enjoyed seeing the huge, great skyscrapers. Then we headed over to the Docklands Light Railway which we all thought was cool because it was driven by a computer! We then went to the Emirates cable car which was sadly closed because it was too windy. So we went back to Canary Wharf and had hot chocolates. In the evening, we went to see Mamma Mia at the Novello Theatre. We all enjoyed it!
It was the second day and in the morning we went to The Houses of Parliament. We went inside The House of Commons and Lords. However, we weren’t allowed to sit on the leather seats. We then went to do a workshop where we had a debate about how many children you can have! After that we went to have lunch in the Princess of Wales’ memorial playground. Then we let off some steam and played around in the playground. Then suddenly a helicopter landed in Kensington Gardens and it was a royal helicopter! It turned out it was Princess Anne going out some where!
After that we went to the Natural History Museum. We saw the dinosaurs and the huge blue whale. Then we had tea back at the hostel and then headed over to the Thames where we caught a boat that took us to the London Eye. The boat was luxury and had a huge TV inside and an open back. We went past St. Paul’s Cathedral and lots of other important buildings. The city was lit up and looked amazing. When we got to the London eye, we went to the 4D experience. It was awesome- then, it was time to do it for real! We were going on the London Eye! It looked stunning and we saw Buckingham Palace lit up. It was an alight capital!
The next day we went to Shakespeare’s Globe Theatre and had a tour. We also did some acting and had a laugh! After that we briefly visited Tate Modern and the south bank. We had lunch right in front of St. Paul’s Cathedral. Then we went to a little playground and then headed back to Waterloo. It was an amazing trip. Goodbye London! We’ll be back!

A group of 14 pupils took part in the recent Warbstow Fun Run. All succeeded in completing the course, in the coldest of conditions. We did particularly well at this event this year, with 1st and high placings. Well done to all and look out Warbstow when we return for the team event at the end of term!
