Tuesday 2nd May was Kilmar’s first experience of forest school. We were blessed with beautiful Cornish weather and the super facilities of our wooded area. All of the children were given the opportunity to try whittling hazel sticks ready for marshmallow toasting over their mini, 5 minute fires.
Team building and communication games were played to develop life skills, when working with others. Additionally, there was the chance for the pupils to create their own ‘prison,’ based on our current class topic Whodunnit?
Overall, it was an enjoyable and positive first forest school session, which we hope will be repeated and built upon in the near future.
