On Friday 16th March, Trewortha went on their annual trip to London along with Year 6 pupils from Boyton and Harrowbarrow. They went on the London Eye, visited the Houses of Parliament (where they had a workshop), took a boat trip up the Thames and enjoyed a 4D experience. They had a very busy day that was enjoyed by all and the staff were proud of the excellent behaviour shown by the pupils.
To celebrate Fairtrade Fortnight, Lewannick held a Fairtrade bake off.
The challenge was to bake at home using as many Fairtrade ingredients in the recipe as possible.
Our two winners were Maisie and Annelise who used 7 different ingredients in their recipes.
A big thank you to everyone who baked. It is important to support Fairtrade to ensure farmers and workers receive a fair price for the goods they produce.
On Thursday 22nd February Year 6 joined fellow pupils from Boyton and Harrowbarrow schools for a sponsored beach clean at Widemouth Bay near Bude.It was beautiful weather and it provided a great opportunity for the children to meet their peers who they will be going to London with in March. A great contribution was made by all involved to help tackle the issue of ocean plastic.
Trewortha Class took part in a production of Carmen at Launceston College.
This project was developed by the Royal Opera House to make opera accessible to school children. We thank Nicole and Shelley from Cornwall Music Hub for all their hard work putting this performance together and we valued the opportunity to work with children from Coads Green and Altarnun schools.
On Wednesday 7th February, Trewortha Class took part in a pop-up book workshop. Robert Crowther, a parent from pre-school, kindly treated us to some of his published books, including trains, cars and the alphabet. He taught us how to make simple pop-ups, sliding pages and flaps. We had a brilliant day and hope he will come back and work with us again in the future.
Trewortha class performed ’14 sleeps till Santa’ which was aired this morning on Pirate FM.
